Found Footage
Amalica Pica's exhibit featured a few installations that used slide projectors. These machines, "old school" technology and film in general are not something many contemporary students are used to working with or seeing.

What are these? Initially you can't tell what the images are. You have to hold the slide to the light.

You hold the slide to the light and you must be creative and see the potential in them.

You feed the film into the machine, careful that it doesn't get stuck.

Talking about what we see in the slides, but also a bit of gossip and life stuff, The definition of multi-tasking.

Converting film into slides for the projector.

Converting the film into slide is difficult because you have to be careful with the glass. You can also use tape to hold it in place.

We were also inspired by Jennifer West's process of manipulating and altering film to change the meaning of the imagery and film itself. Check out her informational video where she has skateboarders "skate the sky" and her beautiful film of lipstick kisses.
