Casey Smallwood: documenting

Casey Smallwood talked about her very recently finished work which included video and photographic stills from those videos. She talked to us about the roles we play in our own lives. Her interest in performance, non-performance and the invisible parts of "acting" were our starting point in creating our own questions to ask each other.

We generated a good group of questions that were that were personalized to us and our every day but still were related to the types of questions Casey tends to ask her "actors." The first video below the example we used in class to get started. Then we quickly interviewed one another. It was both awkward, funny and successful! In the spirit of true collaboration, Casey will take those interviews and create a video that will be a part of our exhibit at the Harold Washington College in Chicago.
